A Brief Overview of IELTS General Training Module

The IELTS General Training module is one of the two types of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) tests. This module is designed for individuals who want to migrate to an English-speaking country, work in a non-academic environment, or pursue training or vocational programs.

The IELTS General Training module includes four sections:

1- Speaking

  • The Speaking section includes a face-to-face interview with an examiner, where candidates are required to speak on a range of topics.

2- Listening

  • The Listening section includes four recorded texts, which are played only once, and candidates are required to answer a variety of questions based on the recordings.

3- Reading

  • The Reading section includes three passages with increasing difficulty levels, and candidates are required to answer a range of questions based on the passages.

4- Writing

  • The Writing section includes two tasks: Task 1 is a letter writing task, and Task 2 is an essay writing task.

The Listening and Speaking sections are the same for both the Academic and General Training modules, while the Reading and Writing sections differ.
